Hey, why am I so cold?

My friends call me a “hot house flower”. I don’t like cold weather, I can get a chill in 80 degree temperatures and I’m definitely not a fan of snow. So you can imagine my reaction when I looked out my window earlier this week and saw a world gone white. Then to add insult to injury another storm came barreling up the East Coast a few days later, dumping more snow. Don’t get me started on the freezing temperatures. This isn’t supposed to happen here.

The back-to-back storms dropped more than 2 feet of snow in parts of Maryland, according to the National Weather Service, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported that Washington, D.C. beat it’s 121-year snowfall record with 55.9 inches of the cold, white stuff.

So where’s the warming in global warming? What gives? I needed answers. Retired NASA scientist, Mark Schoeberl, consented to be put on the hot spot. Here’s what he had to say.
